Your Residential Tenancy Agreement is a legal and binding contract, providing protection for both you and your Landlord. If you need to terminate your Tenancy Agreement, it can be done in the following ways;
If you have a ‘Fixed Term’ Residential Tenancy Agreement, you are required to give two weeks (14) days written notice prior to the expiration of the lease of your intention to vacate.
If you have a ‘Periodic’ Residential Tenancy Agreement, you are required to give two weeks (14) days written notice prior to the expiration of the lease of your intention to vacate.
If you need to ‘Break’ your lease and vacate prior to the end of the term, please contact your property manager immediately. In these circumstances, you will be responsible for payment of rent until the commencement of the next tenancy agreement, and there will be some associated lease break costs. Metrocity Realty will work diligently in this situation to minimise this expense.
